We’re delighted that you’re interested in joining 1st Prestbury Scouts!
We’re a busy and growing Scout Group, giving young people from Prestbury and the surrounding area opportunities to make friends, learn new skills, enjoy adventures and have fun.
Joining our waiting list
All of our sections — Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts — are currently full, so we operate a waiting list for new members.
Demand for places is very high. Our current waiting list position is approximately:
- Squirrels (4–6 years): around 2 years
- Beavers (6–8 years): around 3 years
- Cubs (8–10½ years): places are currently only available when an existing Cub leaves the section. Very few spaces have become available over the last year, so unfortunately we are unable to give an estimated waiting time.
- Scouts (10½–14 years): places are currently only available when an existing Scout leaves the section. Very few spaces have become available over the last year, so unfortunately we are unable to give an estimated waiting time.
These waiting times and availability are only a guide. The number of spaces that become available can vary, and unfortunately joining the waiting list does not guarantee that we will be able to offer your young person a place.
We recommend adding your young person to the waiting list as early as possible.
Could you volunteer with us?
The number of young people we can welcome into Scouts depends directly on the amazing volunteers who give their time to support the Group.
We’re always looking for new volunteers — and you don’t need any previous Scouting experience. There are lots of ways to get involved, from helping regularly with one of our sections to supporting the Group behind the scenes.
Families of our regular volunteers are given priority for places within the Group, including volunteers who help with our sections and those who take on other regular roles.
